About P hysics Department

Head of Department's Speech

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and prayers and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his pure and virtuous family.

I am delighted to be the head of the Physics Department, which I consider a launching pad for a scientific future worthy of this nation. As an academic, I believe that building a nation begins in a university laboratory and culminates in a lasting legacy in the annals of science. Since assuming this leadership role, my primary focus has been developing the department and expanding its educational and research horizons.

Our development vision and academic programs:

The department's master's program was not merely an academic accreditation; it was a promise fulfilled, producing qualified researchers capable of making significant scientific contributions. This was followed by the launch of a bridging program, designed to connect every science teacher with a diploma, transforming them into a qualified physics teacher, based on our belief that true educational advancement begins in the school laboratory.

Our ambition doesn't stop there; we are also outlining sub-specializations within our department that represent a pressing national and modern necessity, namely:

  • Medical physics to serve the health sector.

  • Lasers and their advanced applications.

  • Materials science in its geometric dimensions.

  • General physics and teacher training.

Because the department we dream of and work for is not just an institution that grants certificates, but a real laboratory for solving problems and a platform for creating the future.

Scientific research and the rise of Hajjah University in global rankings:

At the heart of this vision, I firmly believe that a university professor without scholarly publications is like a tree without fruit, and that scientific research is the lifeblood that nourishes the spirit of the university and enhances its standing. This is confirmed today by Hajjah University, which has recorded an exceptional rise with a total of 1,650 scholarly citations on the Google Scholar platform, and a research momentum and vitality index that places it at the forefront with 82.8% of recent citations.

These statistics are not mere numbers; they are living proof that our university has become a major and influential player in the academic landscape. These achievements are concentrated in applied research areas inspired by our publications, most notably:

Materials science and nanotechnology.

Renewable Energy (Nanomaterials and Renewable Energy) to develop practical solutions to improve the efficiency of solar panels and address environmental challenges.

These efforts culminated in the publication of high-quality research in international journals ranked in the top quartile (Q1). This is not a personal achievement, but rather a testament to a department with a clear intellectual footprint, and conclusive proof that Hajjah University is capable of competing globally, demonstrating that emerging regional universities are capable of leading in qualitative and applied excellence.

A call to the future:

Therefore, I invite you all – my esteemed colleagues and dear students – to be true partners in the battle for intellectual and scientific development. What is launched from today's argument may resonate throughout the world, and knowledge belongs to God, and the nation awaits our positive impact.
